Enfield, NH - September 17th, 2009 - Leading Edge Design Group, a leading provider of energy optimization services, announced today that they are featured in a LEDs Magazine case study for their work with the Boston Manchester Regional Airport.
The Mascoma Savings Bank Operations Center was named the "Efficiency Vermont Building of the Year" in 2004, but the Bank continually strives to curb energy consumption in 2009 and beyond. The Bank is currently working with Leading Edge Design Group on additional self-funding energy reduction solution with implementation planned for early 2010.

Enfield, NH - May 22, 2009 – Leading Edge Design Group, a leading provider of energy optimization services, announced today that they will collaborate with Public Service of New Hampshire to help Manchester-Boston Regional Airport recognize substantial energy savings by reducing the power consumption associated with existing metal halide fixtures in their parking garage onsite.
Manchester-Boston Regional Airport currently operates eighty 400 watt metal halide light fixtures that are used to illuminate the ramp areas of the Helix connecting floors in their parking garage. These fixtures each consume 455 watts of power and operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. After an analysis of the operating characteristics of these fixtures, Leading Edge Design Group proposed the implementation of eighty – 40 watt LED retrofit panels for the existing fixtures with a dusk-to-dawn control system to maximize energy savings as well as life expectancy of the equipment. With a measured life expectancy of 13 years for the new LED fixtures, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport expects to save approximately 305,000 kilowatt hours annually through the significant reduction in energy consumption of the LED replacements.

Colorado Meat Packers (CMP), a Denver-based company with a 38,000 square foot meat packing facility, conducted an independent study to quantify the potential savings recognized through implementation of energy optimization solutions. The solutions, capacitors (called "EasiLiners") and a Polarized Oil Additive (called "Frigi-Tech") are both solutions that Leading Edge Design Group incorporates into their energy solution offering.
Colorado Meat Packers consume an average of 168,000 KWH/month. The independent study was conducted to determine if a 16% reduction in KWH could be achieved.

The utilization of virtualization technologies through blade server deployment continues to increase at a rapid rate as organizations attempt to maximize server density per rack. Although these technologies optimize rack space, they also significantly increase the power and cooling requirements of the data center. Organizations are faced with a continuous struggle to provide ample power and cooling to support these high density server deployments on legacy data center infrastructures. This case study discusses the challenges Tele Atlas faced in meeting the power and cooling requirements of their blade server deployment. Tele Atlas was able to facilitate rapid growth by leveraging blade server technologies but quickly realized that their existing data center CRAC units were incapable of providing sufficient cooling to support their operation.
