December 20, 2010 – Hanover, NH – Leading Edge Design Group, a leading provider of energy optimization services, announced today that they will work with the Town of Hanover, NH to implement LED lighting in their downtown parking garage. The Town will replace existing 100 watt metal halide fixtures with high performance, 33 watt LED fixtures.
Downtown Hanover, NH is the home of Dartmouth College and a vibrant Main Street community, and the parking garage is used extensively to support local businesses, visitors, and students. The LED lighting system to be implemented by Leading Edge Design Group will save approximately 79,000 kilowatt hours per year and save over 108,000 pound of carbon from being released into the atmosphere. In addition, the LED lighting system provides a 100,000 hour life expectancy, drastically reducing the rising maintenance costs that the Town is struggling to support in the existing system. “Hanover, NH is an active environmentally conscious community,” says Gary Hubbard, Energy Efficiency Program Manager at Leading Edge Design Group. “The new LED lighting system will significantly reduce the environmental impact of their Town operations while freeing up critical operating dollars that can be used elsewhere in the community.”
The LED lighting implementation is currently underway and expected to be completed by the end of January, 2011.
