ENFIELD, NH – March 8, 2011 – Leading Edge Design Group, a leading national provider of energy optimization services, announced today that Todd Boucher, Principal, has been awarded certification as a Data Center Energy Practitioner (DCEP), a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Industrial Technologies Program. Currently awarded to less than 200 professionals, the program was developed to accelerate energy savings in the dynamic and energy-intensive data center industry and raise the standards of those involved in energy assessments.
The DCEP program was developed with industry stakeholders to train a core group of professional energy practitioners to help data centers reduce their energy demands and accelerate energy savings. The benefits of working with a DCEP certified solution provider include:
- Qualified experts to identify and evaluate energy efficiency opportunities in data centers
- Recipients are trained to use the Department of Energy’s DC Pro software tool suite
- Complete evaluation of electrical systems, air management, HVAC, and information technology
- Use of a proven and consistent methodology for data center assessments
- Required to pass an exam and be re-qualified every 2 to 3 years
“Many customers have legacy, inefficient data center infrastructures operating with increased pressure to lower costs and improve computing power,” said Todd Boucher. “The Department of Energy DCEP certification will enable Leading Edge Design Group to guide our customers through their upgrade efforts using an approved framework and deliver solutions for existing data centers that will lower energy costs, improve resiliency and increase capacity.”
