Enfield, NH - February 15, 2010 – Leading Edge Design Group, a leading provider of energy optimization services, announced today that they have been contracted to design the first LEED Certified Data Center in the State of Vermont. The new data center, a Tier III Colocation facility, is currently under design development.
"We are thrilled to work on such an exciting project and for the opportunity to create a LEED Certified Data Center Design," said Todd Boucher, Principal of Leading Edge Design Group. "Obtaining a LEED Certification strictly for a data center space is a challenging endeavor but the customer and our organization are committed to achieving this progressive goal."
Many data centers that have been LEED Certified to date leveraged attached office space construction to obtain additional LEED points. For this project, Leading Edge Design Group will be pursuing a LEED Certification for the data center only.
"We commend our customer for their commitment to energy efficiency in the build out of their Colocation facility," says Boucher. In addition to energy efficient technologies like In Row cooling, containment systems, and LED lighting, "the data center will be equipped with some of the most advanced monitoring systems available, allowing energy consumption and metrics like PUE to be viewed in real-time."
Additional data about the new data center will be released as the design efforts progress.
